Boulder Creek Golf Club Wedding

Grand Rapids, Michigan

Ceremony Location: Tribes Church

From the bride and groom:

About the Venue

We chose to get married at our church in Rockford because it was such an important place for us. We got baptized there together about two years before the wedding so we really created an important foundation at that church and knew when we got engaged that we were getting married there. We also chose Boulder Creek Golf Club because it happed to be about a 5 minute drive from our church and it has the most breathtaking views from the golf course.

About the Dress

I loved my dress because it was a two piece. It has the top sheer cover that had the straps and really long train that i wore for the ceremony, but under was a form fitting strapless dress that was just so different from the cover. It was so cool to get two dresses from the price of one!

About our traditions/fun activities

We took communion during the ceremony which is a pretty unique thing from apart from most. We tried to also incorporate my husbands love for Star Wars and did a grand entrance to the Imperial March and wore Storm Trooper mask and a Darth Vader mask.

About working with Brenda Hoffman Photography

We LOVED working with Brenda. She was the most incredible photographer and just all around person that I could not have imagined our day without her. During our entire engagement she was so supportive and knew the things that we needed before we even did. She was on top of everything and exceeded all my expectations on the day of and was such a blessing when we were working on our album.

Most memorable moments

I think our grand entrance was probably the most memorable. I definitely don’t think any of our guests expected us to walk out in that!

Advice for other couples

I would say to not stress to much on the day of, you spend so long planning for this huge day that you deserve to just live in what you’ve accomplished and accept the things that may not be perfect because that’s where you get the best stories. Our florist forgot to give us a basket for the flower girl, and a sign for the ring bearer so they walked down together holding a mason jar with some flower petals we found. No one even noticed and it still wound up being perfect.

From the Photographer

Aaron and Allison were married on warm June day with lots of family and friends supporting them and celebrating with them.   They started off with getting ready at Tribes Church, where the couple attends regularly.

Their first look was one for the story books!  It had rained early that morning and was quite humid still by the time we planned on the two seeing each other for the first time on their wedding day.  The warm and humid conditions and having their first look next to some dense woods made Aaron a huge target for all the mosquitoes in the surrounding area.  By the time he turned to view is lovely bride his poor forehead was filled with welts!  Such a trooper, though, to not let it dampen the mood in the least.  It did provide for some good story-telling, too!

Following their church ceremony, they had a super fun reception at the Boulder Creek Golf Club.  The two even donned Star Wars helmets for their grand entrance.  That’s one that I won’t soon forget!
