About the Venue
We chose Level 3 at The B.O.B. because of it’s location downtown and the beautiful rustic look of the decor with exposed wood beams, large windows, and soft lighting. We loved that there were separate rooms for the bar and soft seating allowing guests to flow and mingle throughout the night when they weren’t dancing. Learn more.
About the Dress
My dress was from Renee Austin Bridal in Grand Rapids. The day I went dress shopping I tried on many different styles, I said I did not want a tight fitting strapless dress but the stylist there suggested I try one on with an overskirt, but I fell in love with it before I even got the skirt on! It showed off my hourglass figure in a way I never could have imagined and the overskirt allowed me to be a princess while I walked down the aisle and then take it off for the reception. My veil was my favorite part of it all though! I had my dream cathedral veil to tie it all together.
About our traditions/fun activities
My family has Polish sausage for every family gathering and our wedding was no different. The Gilmore collection (our catered) was so accommodating that they ordered the Polish sausage we always get from the butcher we have used for years and prepared it according to our family’s recipe.
About working with Brenda Hoffman Photography
Brenda was fantastic! Leading up to the wedding and helped to set the schedule and answer random questions I had that I didn’t know who else to ask. Day of she was very punctual and kept things moving. I did not want any date posed pictures and that is exactly what Brenda delivered. In every picture the looks, tears, laughs, and smiles are all real and candid and she captured them perfectly!
Advice for other couples
Don’t stress day of. I found myself stressing about things getting done morning of, but it will work out and the things that don’t, most people won’t even notice because they don’t know what your plans we’re. On that same note though, have a team of helpers that are not the wedding party day of if you don’t have a wedding planner to do little things like transporting bags or setting up the cake, so you know everything is in good hands.
Vendors
Music Host kept the dance floor hopping all night and was a pleasure to work with on the same team. Gilmore catering and L3vel at the B.O.B. are great hosts! The food is phenomenal and the staff is always very helpful and attentive.
